I’m Mila, the founder of MIRU Interior Design. After a decade in financial crime investigations, I made the decision to follow a long-standing passion: creating thoughtful, harmonious interiors.
What began with design courses and small styling projects soon grew into a deeper calling. I wanted to help people feel truly at home—through spaces that are not only beautiful but deeply personal.
Relocating as a family of five to southern Spain—a place that has long inspired me—allowed that vision to take shape. MIRU was born from a blend of global experience, Mediterranean influence, and a belief in interiors that feel intentional, grounded, and full of character.

After more than a decade living in the Netherlands—building international careers, raising our family, and exploring cultures around the world—we felt the call for change.
We longed for more light, creativity, and a stronger connection to nature. Southern Spain, where we once lived, studied, and met, felt like the perfect place to return to. Rich in history, culture, and coastal beauty, it offered exactly the lifestyle shift we needed.
Today, we’re based just outside Málaga, a vibrant hub for creativity, design, and expat life—embracing a slower, more intentional way of living.
